do you want to be rich or u want to be happy? choose!
i read an article weeks back on the topic does money buy happiness?. my dad urged me to read it and tell him what i feel about it. the articles talk about the sides of the rich, not so rich, and poor. a research made by a european professor came out with different results. it is fascinating to see how money can shape a life of a person. what he does, where he goes, all depends on how much money he has.

the result of the research showed that money does increase a little percentage of happiness for a person. this is mainly because when a person has money to do what he likes, his own way, he'll be happy. but it also showed that even without money, a person can be happy if he has a great family and always spend time with his loved ones. here money is not a factor. on the average person's view, money is not important to them, if he gets what he wants, and has everything that he needs he rather not be rich. this is where wants influence people on their life. as for the poor, they do not reach the optimum level of happiness mainly due to certain constraint of things he can do. for him, life has never been complete.

after reading the article, i felt that, why do we need money in the first place? is it because we need to fulfill our dying needs to purchase or to have something that we dont have? or is it to make our life easier and live on easiness of things. this depends on how the person is. if u ask for more, and you did not get it, then the level of happiness will decrease. if u are able to let go of the things that you want and appreciate things that you have, i guess that is enough. so it depends.

when can we say what we have enough money? never i guess. this is because humans cannot control their wants. when this happens they work hard, trying to achieve their goal in fulfilling their want. the harder we work, the less happiness we will achieve. this is because leaving ur family, ur friends and chasing for money does not balance with your achievement. in other words, its better to spend time with people you love rather than looking for things that are unsure. sometimes it is important to tell yourself enough is enough.

hmm i dont quite agree with "the harder we work, the less happiness we will achieve". yeah it's true that sometimes you need to tell yourself enough is enough tapikan, i believe that only when you work hard will you be able to enjoy the fruits of your labor. and that sense of achievement pun happiness gak kan? :) anyway, i think money tu penting, but only up to the extend of which you'll be able to make yourself and ur loved ones sufficiently happy, nothing more and nothing less.

    then again, what is sufficient?
